In June 2010, the Company proposed a number of changes to the BOC Pension Scheme. The Company consulted with active members about the proposed changes during July, August and September.
The Company considered all views and comments carefully and, in order to address member concerns, made some amendments to the original proposal before finalising the changes to the Scheme.
Subject to the agreement of the Trustee, the Scheme changes will be effective from 1 April 2011.
The Scheme changes only affect contributing members and do not apply to deferred and pensioner members of the BOC Pension Scheme or members of the BOC Retirement Savings Plan.
