The AVC section website is intended to provide you with easy to understand and helpful information about the Additional Voluntary Contribution (AVC) arrangement.
The AVC section is only available to Active MembersA member of the BOC Pension Scheme or the Gist Scheme who is making contributions or having contributions made on his or her behalf through Salary Exchange. of the BOC Pension Scheme and the Gist Limited Penson Scheme (Gist Scheme).
If you are a Level 1 member, you should seriously consider transferring to Level 2 before joining AVC section. If you are an Active Member of the BOC Pension Scheme, you can find out more by going to the Transferring from Level 1 to Level 2 section of the BOC Pension Scheme website. If you are an Active Member of the Gist Scheme, you can find out more by going to the Transferring from Level 1 to Level 2 section of the Gist Scheme website. Please note this will take you out of the AVC section of the website.

Important note for RS section members
RS section members cannot join AVC section but can have Extra Contributions (the equivalent for RS section members) made. For further information, see What it costs you. Please note that this will take you out of the AVC section site into the RS section website.
From 1 June 2009 contributions will be made through Salary Exchange unless you opt out.
